Christmas Vignette (Holiday Link Party 2012)

Even though we are often traveling during the holidays, scurrying about trying to see as many family members and friends as possible, it is always nice to sit down to a meal with them. Most of our visits center around food, whether it is an outing for coffee or a several course meal.

In keeping with our Simple Christmas theme, we decided to set our Christmas table with what we had. Every December my mother buys boxes of citrus fruits. She packages them and gifts them to neighbors and family. The bright orange fruits paired so well with our deep purple placemats and napkins and white place setting we received from my mother-in-law.

In our new house, we have several camellia trees which share their blooms this time of year. I took a few cuttings and placed them between the citrus and shiny silver ornaments to dress it up. I'm really enjoying our simple table. It has been so relaxing to have avoided getting caught up in the rush that often accompanies the holiday season.

A peek at our Christmas tree and a view of our living room in progress.
It has been very exciting to add doses of Christmas to our home while we continue to work on our house. I am looking forward to the day when we can look around and say, "These projects are finished!"

I'm linking up today with SouthernHospitality's Holiday Home Link Party. Check it out.
