Whipping Cream Biscuits, SL 1980

We had extra whipping cream in the refrigerator that I needed to use so what better way to use up whipping cream than in a biscuit! The exterior of the biscuit was slightly crunchy and the interior was delightfully soft. This biscuit did not last long enough to try it in sandwich form. The Mister really liked it. We do not typically have whipping cream in the house, but this is a great way to use up leftover cream and the recipe is so simple!

Whipping Cream Biscuit

Southern Living 1980 Annual Recipes, Pg 77

I halved this recipe.

1 cup self rising (I used 1 cup all-purpose, 1 tsp baking powder, and 1/2 tsp salt)
1/2 tsp sugar
1/2 cup whipping cream

Mix all ingredients and knead. Bake at 450 for 10 minutes. Instead of rolling and cutting these biscuits, I divided the dough and rolled each piece into balls.
